Jens Vermeersch is Internationalisation Policy Coordinator with GO! onderwijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap. GO! (or Education of the Flemish Community) is the official education provider in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. He has an MA in History and an MA in Communication Sciences and he is a licenced teacher. Jens has twenty five years of experience in international project management of European union funded education projects such as Erasmus+ and it predecessors Leonardo, Grundtvig and Comenius. He also supports GO! schoolgroups on internationalisation and follows EU, Unesco and OECD education policy for GO!.
Jens has been chair of the VLOR commission International education and training policy (Commissie Internationaal Onderwijs- en Vormingsbeleid) since 2013.
He is also a member of the ET2020 work group on digital skills and competences (workgroup Delta) on behalf of the European Federation of Education Employers since 2016.
On behalf of GO! Jens is a member of several jury’s on project assessment such as eTwinning awards, the Prince Philippe foundation school twinnings and the exchange grants of the province of Western Flanders.
